Several of Western Australia’s finest judokas are gearing up to represent Australia, competing in esteemed international competitions in Austria and Hong Kong this weekend. The athletes, representing various Judo WA affiliated clubs, will take on opponents in a variety of weight categories, carrying the spirit of discipline, respect, and continuous improvement into their respective arenas.
The 2023 Graz Junior European Cup in Austria will witness the strength and tenacity of our home-grown athletes. Kimi Jost and Jordon Greenbank from UWA Judo Club, Perth, will represent us in the Men’s -66kg category. In the Women’s -70kg division, we have Saya Middleton from Judo International, ready to demonstrate her skills. Meanwhile, in Hong Kong, we have a stellar line-up of athletes competing in two prestigious tournaments – the 2023 Hong Kong Cadet Asian Cup and the 2023 Hong Kong Junior Asian Cup.
For the Cadet Asian Cup, Vas Middleton from Judo International will take the mat in the Men -66kg category. Lucas Vladich-McKenzie of the Australian Institute of Judo will compete in the Men -81kg division. Representing the UWA Judo Club in the Women -57kg category is O’ren Kelly, and Maelie Tournier from Judo International will be battling it out in the Women -48kg division.
