We are thrilled to announce that two of Western Australia’s rising judo stars will be representing Australia at the 2024 Cadet World Championships in Lima, Peru. The event, running from 28 August to 1 September, will showcase the talents of young judokas from around the world, and we’re proud to see our athletes among them.
Maelie Tournier, from Judo International, will be competing in the women’s Under 48kg division on Thursday, 29 August. Joining Maelie is Oren Kelly, a member of the UWA Judo Club, who will be competing in the women’s Under 57kg division on Friday, 30 August.
The preliminary rounds for both divisions are expected to start around 9am-10am local time in Peru, which means fans in Perth can tune in live on JudoTV from about 10pm-11pm to cheer on our athletes. This is a fantastic opportunity to support Maelie and Oren as they compete against the best young judokas in the world.
